How do I register a domain name?

is possible that your first choice may be taken. Think of several
alternatives to increase your chances of success in finding and
purchasing the perfect Domain Name for your web site. Use our Domain
Search tool to find a Domain Name, then proceed to registration,
and follow the steps to completion. Upon registration, your Domain
Name will be useable within 48 hours.
What do I need in order to register a domain name?
Anyone can register a Domain Name. You only need to have a credit
card to make the purchase.
What methods of payment does Low Cost Domains accept?
We accept Visa, MC, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept
checks.
How can I tell if my desired domain name is available?
You can check to see if your Domain Name is available using our
Domain Search tool.
What if the domain name I want to register is already
taken?
If the Domain Name you are interested in registering has already
been registered, you must select another domain name that you would
like to register, or try registering the same name within a different
Top Level Domain. For example, if mybrand.com is not available,
try registering mybrand.net or mybrand.org. There is nothing that
Low Cost Domains.com can do to assist you in acquiring a Domain
Name that is already registered.
Do I need to register .com, .net and .org?
The expense of registering and supporting a Domain Name is minor
compared to the expense of marketing your Domain Name and your business.
The last thing you want is for someone else (usually your competitors)
to benefit from your efforts to establish your identity. You will
see competitors registering names close to yours, trying to benefit
from typos your visitors may make. For example, someone registered
internik.net to try and benefit from typos by visitors to reputable
internic.net. Low Cost Domains is a good example, too. In order
to protect lowcostdomains.com, we have also registered:
lowcostdomains.com
lowcostdomains.net
lowcostdomains.org
Can I register domain names with country suffixes?
Yes, you can now register United Kingdom suffixes; .org.uk
and .co.uk.
Will I get a confirmation that my domain name registration
request has been approved?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation within 12 hours after registration.
How long will the domain name be mine after I register
it?
As long as you continue to pay 'rent' on the Domain Name, there is
no limit to usage time. You have full control over the domain. The
Domain Name is yours until you stop payment.
Can I modify the parking page?
Unfortunately, Low Cost Domains does not allow the user to change
there under construction page.
Is it possible for another person to register my
domain name after I have registered it?
Domain Name availability is verified by Low Cost Domains and other
accredited registrars through the SRS (Shared Registration System),
a universal database of available ". com," "net" and ".org" Domain
Names. This system prevents a Domain Name that is successfully registered
through Low Cost Domains.com from being registered through another
Domain Name registration site.
What if I need to change my domain name?
We apologize for your inconvenience, but there is no possible way
for us to make corrections to Domain Names after the customer has
submitted them.
What if I decide that I no longer need my domain
name?
As per section 3 of the registration
agreement that you agreed to during the purchase of your Domain
Name, registration fees of a Domain Name are non-refundable.
