How to Setup a web-based Email Account
Note:
Free Email is web-based email, (e.g. Hotmail.com, Email.com). Free
Email will allow you to setup email addresses with your domain name
and check them via the internet.
Unfortunatley, the only access you have to check your Free Email
accounts is through the internet. You can login to your Free Email
accounts at http://mail.lowcostdomains.com.
VERY
IMPORTANT: You will not be able to receive or send
email using web-based email if you do not have your Domain Nameservers
(DNS) propagating to the Low Cost Domains Nameservers. To learn
more about this click here.
How to:
To
setup a web-based email account you will need to login to the domain
manager with your username and password. If you do not have
your username and password please click here. If
you have your username and password but still cannot login, please
Once
you login to the domain manager, click on the Free
Email Services link. From here, there will be two areas,
the Free Email Area and the Email Forwarding Area. You will click
the Add link underneath the Free Email Area to
add a free email to your account.
You
will not be permitted to have the same email address setup under
both the Free Email Area and the Email Forwarding Area. Also, each
free email account you setup will have a disk space area of 3 megabytes,
but you can setup an unlimited amount of free email addresses.
Currently, when you setup
a free email account, the email account will be assigned a username.
This username will look like this:
Example:
fe45366@5thelement.lowcostdomains.com
Unfortunately,
this is the way our server keeps track of all the free email accounts.
There is NO way to change this. When you send an email, sometimes,
the recipient will see the above example. Both the server username
for your free email account and the name you assign your free email
account will work.
After
setting up a free email account for the first time, please allow
24 hours for the setup to complete. After the first setup, you will
only need to wait 4 hours to make updates.
